Driving to Utah

WyDOT doesn't plow well. (Neither does the city.) Below are some photos from my journey to my mom's. I drove on the day of Christmas Eve.

This would be Interstate 25, about 30 miles north of Casper. One lane is plowed. And the shoulder is plowed.

Interstate 25, also on the way to Casper, with the wind picking up, blowing snow across the freeway.

The freeway was clear by the time I hit Casper. I think approaching Casper is so pretty. My photo doesn't do it justice. And it's even prettier in the fall, with the colors on the trees.

State Highway 220 between Casper and Muddy Gap, WY. Even though it seems like it's in the middle of nowhere, and kind of is in the middle of nowhere, the route is a bypass to Interstate 80. The route also can lead to another state highway that takes traffic to the central part of the state (Lander, Riverton, etc.) Awesome snow job. I hope they enjoyed the holiday off. My sister was recently traveling in Minnesota,  like 100 miles outside of the Twin Cities, and said plowing is sketchy there, too. The mentality — in Wyoming, at least — is that you should have a pickup or four-wheel drive and if you don't, drive at your own risk.
